Stine Janvin




Stine Janvin is a vocalist, performer, composer and sound artist living and working in Stavanger, Norway. She works with the extensive flexibility of her voice in relation to visual elements such as costume and lighting, as well as audio spatialization and the ways in which this can be used to channel physicality of sound, tangibility and trigger sensory response. Often inspired by electronic music genres, folk traditions and pop culture, Janvin creates audio visual works and live performances for a variety of spaces such as theaters, clubs and art galleries, and more recently websites and digital platforms.

Janvin’s work has recently been presented by KANAL-Centre Pompidou and Wiels, Brussels; CCA, Berlin; Wiener Festwochen, MACBA Barcelona, Palazzo delle Esposizioni and Mattatoio in Rome, Venice Biennial opening week, MUNCH in Oslo, Performa Telethon and Issue Project Room, NYC; Rokolectiv, Bucharest; Kunsthall Stavanger and Deutschlandradio Kultur.

From 2020 - 2021 Janvin was a fellow in residence at the Berliner Künstlerprogramm des DAAD.
